GHP Final Interview
Today was the Governor Honors Program's final interview, and it was much less intense than I thought. For my denomination, I chose social studies and our final challenge was to do a model UN council, but we wouldn’t know the topic until we got there or the country we would be assigned. Additionally, we had to read a passage and discuss it.
While waiting, I met many other contestants from my tri-county area and it was really fun to get to meet new people and discuss different perspectives before the interviews.
Luckily, I was able to get France as a country and our topic was South African power grid failures and issues. I feel like I could have talked more but I went with quality over quantity, talking about combating brain drain for a long-term solution and offering donations of humanitarian aid instead of money like most were talking about.
I hope I get in! The results are in a month, until then I’ll try to relax.
